'Clown' represents self-affirmation through the fears we have adopted, overcome, and even confronted. It is an ode to coulrophobia, a fear of clowns from which many of us have not been able to escape. After the cinematic adaptation of Stephen King's novel, "It," the diabolical clown has continued to haunt our nightmares by tapping directly into our fears. This character has become iconic today and continues to inspire creators. Beyond its jovial and amusing appearance, there is a darker and more unsettling dimension that can emerge from its presence. In psychoanalysis, this ambivalence can be explored through the lens of the concept of the "id." The clown, with its impulsive behavior and unpredictable actions, sometimes embodies the primitive impulses and unconscious desires contained within the "id." Our clown, on the other hand, harks back to childhood. By wearing a suit jacket like a skirt, one might wonder if it does not emerge directly from inside the security blanket? As if it had grown too fast, and having no more room, had torn all the seams of its envelope. Because that is precisely what "It" is. In psychoanalysis, it refers to the dark and damp cellar where we store everything we no longer wish to remember. An inner cellar full of traumas. So how can we not succumb to this combination of the security of the security blanket, an ideology projecting a reassuring image of parents, with everything that can scare us the most and that we keep buried deep inside ourselves.
