The Saint-Michel fountain, with its illustration of the Archangel Michael defeating the Devil, offers a reflection on the eternal struggle between Good and Evil. Through this symbolism, the representation of the woman emerges as a central figure. In mythological stories, the woman is often associated with the fall, temptation, and a guilt inherited from the biblical episode of the apple. However, the work 'DEMON' we propose offers a bold reinterpretation of the woman. She embodies the modern strong woman, liberated from stereotypes and societal constraints. Like Archangel Michael triumphing over Evil, she defies norms and expectations, fully embracing her freedom and individuality. In this confrontation between tradition and modernity, the woman becomes the equal of the archangel, displaying her inner strength and determination to break free from the chains of the past. Moreover, the representation of this woman as queer adds an additional dimension to her identity. As a queer person, she transcends the boundaries of the norm and openly celebrates her sexuality and gender. This intersectionality between feminine strength, modernity, and queerness offers a unique and enriching perspective on human diversity, highlighting the beauty and complexity of queer identity in our contemporary society.
